Items 1, 2, 3 have a major factor in how
fast a boat goes. Some
boats have a deep V while others have a shallow V hull. A deep
V hull will have a tendency to chime walk (the water not touching
the back corners of the boat, rocking back and forth against the
chimes of the boat). The faster the boat goes, the more violent
the rocking. The boat becomes unstable and unsafe to drive.
Item 3, if the weight is wrong, either to
heavy in the bow, the boat tends to plow water. While if
the boat is stern heavy, it takes more horsepower to get the boat
